The Obscure Consciousness (Part 1)
Meditation has always been an area of pondering. There are several levels of mediation ranging from beginner to Gautam Buddha level. After a certain level the number of people practicing that mediation decreases significantly. At the highest level, the person who can practice that comes in thousands of years. And what goes behind the mind of those people, only they know. Things they can see, and understand are way beyond the normal human brain.
Akutra was a man in his late 20s, working in a private firm. He started practicing meditation when he was young and it’s been 10 years since he is doing that. He was not a full-time practitioner and was no one compared to the mystics yogis of the Himalayas. But still, there was something in him different from all those. From the outside, he seems to be an ordinary man. But as all heads look the same from the outside, inside each there are different stories and thoughts. And what was brewing inside Akutra’s head, only time will tell. He was fascinated by the universe and had a good knowledge of astrophysics which he self-taught himself. He was particularly interested in mysterious dark energy and dark matter. Dark energy and dark matter comprise 68% and 27 % of the universe. This is huge as the observable matter consists only less than 5%. This is strange as everything we experience is a tiny fraction of reality.
Dark matter makes up most of the mass of galaxies and galaxy clusters, and is responsible for the way galaxies are organized on grand scales. Dark energy, meanwhile, is the name we give the mysterious influence driving the accelerated expansion of the universe.
More is unknown than known about these. But this is fascinating as what we perceive as empty space is not so empty is it?
One usual evening Akutra had just come home from the office. He likes meditating on his terrace outside in the open directly below the stars. But that evening there was something unusual about the meditation . Usually, in meditation, the person looks inside himself/herself and has no connection with the outer environment, the whole universe is his body and mind. But Akutra was experiencing something different this time. It was like something/someone outside was trying to contact and interfere with his body and mind. He heard a voice inside his head “I chose you”. This felt like a dream as well as reality at the same time. He opened his eyes to see the ground dust revolving around him. All of this happened within seconds and everything was normal after that. Akutra is usually a very calm and composed person but after this even he was startled for some time. But after settling he reasonably thought about the incident. Akutra is a very scientific and reasonable person and has a good knowledge of physics and the world around him. He tried to break down the incident into pieces. There seem to be two unusual happenings, the first one is the strange voice in his head, and the second one is the abnormal behavior of dust and small stones defying the laws of gravity. The way the dust and stones were moving was not natural; it was like some invisible force was moving them. And it was not a gravitational force. It was mysterious energy and Akutra related it to some dark energy form. It was just a guess but he had to start somewhere. The first incident was still unexplainable that strange voice was still weighing on Akutras mind. The only way to gather more explanations was to recreate the events and try to communicate again with that mysterious energy.
The next day at the same time Akutra started to meditate hoping to encounter the mystery voice and get some answers. For the first five days, he didn’t experience anything. After trying a few more days he finally had a brief encounter with the voice. In his mind, he was transported to a dark space. Then a voice echoed in there “I have been waiting for you”. Akutra was trying to comprehend what was happening. He asked the voice what are you? It replied different planets at different times have different names for me, Recently Earth has associated me with Dark Energy(DE). It told — “I am everything that humans cannot perceive, I am everything that is not visible matter, I am the force of the universe. I have no brain yet I know everything”. Akutra was taken back from these lines. He opened his eyes and could not believe what he just happened. At one moment he thought this was just some anomaly in his brain. But this would not explain the physical irregularity that was happening with the particles near him every time he contacted the mysterious being. But this answered some questions for Akutra. There are beings beyond human imagination. And this empty space in the universe has its own force and consciousness. This was hard to digest for Akutra- Dark Energy having its own consciousness. But slowly he was able to comprehend. One thing Akutra has learned is that nothing is impossible, humans only approve of things that their brain can comprehend and rejects the rest. But this could be the limitation of the brain. Even if all this is real, why Akutra had these interactions? He wondered if anyone else had a similar experience in the past or present. There are still many questions unanswered, but Akutra now has confidence in connecting with the mysterious energy and slowly he is getting comfortable with all this.
Akutra searched the web if someone else had a similar experience and had written something about it. But no luck, he found nothing of this sort. Most of the searches resulted in some kind of brain disorder. But Akutra knew there was nothing wrong with his brain. But just to be sure the next day he went for a health checkup. A few days later, he got the results and as expected everything was normal. Akutra then jotted down some questions for the next interaction with the mysterious being or Dark Energy(DE).
The next Evening again Akutra went into a deep meditation state. He had never seen the physical form of the mysterious being in any of its interactions, just a cloudy formation of smoke. But this time the smoke had turned into a human-like figure. The being told him- “This is the shape that humans comprehend so here I am”. Akutra was mesmerized, it was like some godly figure. Akutra controlled himself as he had many questions he still wanted answers for. As Akutra started to speak he was interrupted by the DE- “ I know you have many questions, the human mind is curious. You are wondering why I have chosen you. Well, you are not the only one I have tried this with, but I was successful only once before and the rest of them couldn't handle me. Their brains were unable to comprehend and they all suffered from brain disorders and never recovered. But in your case, your brain was strong and calm which helps to establish a connection.” Akutra asked why he was trying to establish a connection with humans, and what is its motive. The DE replied — “Humans have motives I don’t have any, I am just giving Earth a fair chance to survive.” Akutra didn't get it “fair chance?” Akutra asked. “Yes, I have been around since the starting of time and universe. I have seen many planets and life on them. And have seen the destruction of many. There is countless intellectual life on various planets which is valuable. How the universe will be without conscious and intellectual beings? Very peaceful but dull. So before the annihilation of any lively planet, I gave them a fair chance to avert the mishap. Some were able to save their planet some were not, but I gave them an equally fair opportunity. A similar option I am presenting to you as well” — DE replied. “What option?” asked Akutra. It said — “An option to have the power beyond human reach”. What kind of power asked Akutra. It replied — “A power to control matter, the same way dark energy wave exerts force. A tiny piece of my power. But this comes with a price, the more intensely and frequently you use the power the more you exhaust your brain. And eventually, it will die out and so will you. So be careful when to use it. You have bigger and more important things to do. Whenever you want to use the power concentrate and stabilize your mind in that direction. You’ll figure it out. So now I have given you and this planet an option. Be wise!!”. Before Akutra could ask anything else he was woken up from the meditation state.
For a few days, Akutra tried to comprehend what happened. He also tried to connect with the mysterious being again but was in vain. Seems like the mysterious beings’ work had been done and now it depends upon Akutra how he will take this forward…
